The following is a list of some of the character write-ups and their representations (at least as I see them) of my Dishonored Fanfic, Favors.
WARNING: Some spoilers may follow.

Protagonists:
The Undertakers:
James Dartley
The leader of the Undertakers, James Dartley is a decorated and honorably discharged Gristian Naval Officer who held the rank of Master d'arms. Currently, he aids those in need while investigating the death of his cousin, Constance Dartley. For his services he asks a single favor to be given by each of his clients; the nature of the favor owed is determined at the time it is needed, but will always be something that can be paid. His longtime quest to discover the circumstances regarding Constance’s death often leaves him in a bitter mood.
pd: He is a close-shaven man in his early-to-mid thirties, with dark green eyes, skin weathered by the sea, and dark brown hair that is kept short-trimmed. An inch shy of six feet with broad shoulders, he has a strong jawline and a slight dimple set in the middle of his chin. His handsome yet stern features are usually hard to read and he carries himself with composure and calm authority. He normally dresses in common but well-maintained clothing. When needed he carries an Officer's Sword and a specialized City Watch Pistol with a blade attachment.
James Dartley's Pistol. Dartley's Officer's Sword.

Albert Tuddleston
Albert Tuddleston is a bookish scribe, well-read in the histories of the Empire of the Isles in general, and Dunwall in particular. He is also a font of knowledge regarding old, obscure laws, trade rights, and other trivialities. He is well-practiced in piloting the Undertakers’ Motorized Coach and has surprising skill with his antique weaponry blunderbuss, which is his weapon of choice. His jovial attitude is a counter-balance to James' often melancholy moods.pd: Mr. Tuddleston is a great rotund fellow, 5'9 in height, but nearly five feet around the middle. Clean-shaven, he has brownish-red hair and hazel eyes that sparkle with an odd mixture of intelligence and levity. He is usually well-dressed, with finely pressed trousers often complimented by a jacket, gloves, and a hat of popular make.Tuddleston's antique blunderbuss rifle updated with Whale Oil technology.

Ademar Creed
The scion of a prominent family in the Estates District of Dunwall, Ademar excelled in swordsmanship at a young age. Longing to serve the greater good, the noble young man joined the martial division of the Abbey of the Everyman, and became one of the Warfare Overseers. In this position he sought to root out supernatural problems that plagued the good citizens of Dunwall. Despite his quick rise through the ranks of the Overseers, the same conscience and yearning for justice ostracized him from the strict teachings of his fellows. Nearly branded for his deeds which were deemed too open-minded, he has fled the Abbey and seeks to aid James and the other Undertakers to right the wrongs in a capacity the Abbey would never allow.
Ademar is often bound by his sense of honor. (Author's Note: Ademar's hair is shock white in the fic)pd: Ademar is a young man, twenty-six years of age, clean-shaven with sharp, chiseled features. Just topping six feet, he is lean yet well muscled with an athlete's build. His most distinguishing features are his shock white hair and his ice blue eyes whose piercing gaze miss nothing.Retaining his Overseer uniform, Ademar seeks justice with his Sabre and Pistol as a member of the Undertakers.

Vivianna GreyAppearing as nothing more than a naive socialite from a wealthy family, Vivianna Grey is extremely intelligent, an asset that serves her well when she wants to manipulate others for her own ends. While she delights in the creature comforts her father's wealth has given her, she truly wants to stand on her own; a difficult task in a male-dominated society. Never one to shirk from a challenge, she has decided to not only procure a career, but one that no woman has yet to attain in Dunwall: a licensed doctor in a private practice. Regrettably, her frank candor and lack of tact make this difficult goal even harder to obtain. Further magnifying society's disapproval, she has taken up the practice of the sword and pistol - hobbies very unseemly for a young woman. That she is skilled at both hasn't helped her cause.Vivanna Grey, one of the sharpest minds in Dunwall.pd - Lady Grey is an attractive young woman of mixed Gristian and Serkonan heritage in her mid twenties. Her tawny-beige skin, sultry gaze, and alluring features mark her as quite the beauty, and her short dark red hair is always fixed in some fashionable style. She has a firm, athletic build honed from hours of sword practice, yet she moves with a poise and grace of one quite comfortable in a woman's body.Vivianna's Dagger Pistol is elegant, fashionable, and deadly. Vivianna's knuckleduster is easy to conceal but quite effective.

Erin BranniganErin was born in one of the small nameless villages northwest of Fraeport on the Island of Morley, where her father had plied the trade skills he learned at the Fraeport Foundry. Excelling at engineering, he decided to move his small family to the capital of the Empire, bringing Erin and her mother to Dunwall when Erin was only six. For the next seven years, the young girl assisted him, learning his skills and showing a surprising aptitude for mechanics and pulley systems at a young age. Tragedy struck when Erin lost both of her parents during a fire that consumed their home and her father's workshop, forcing the young waif onto the streets when she was only thirteen. The clever and resilient girl took to the life of an urchin, making acquaintances with other wayward children of the city and always keeping an ear to the ground, learning the inner workings of the city as well as any machine she had studied. During this time, her skills at acquiring things of a material nature grew rapidly over the next three-and-a-half years, eclipsing even her father's training.
During a nighttime foray of pilfering in the streets of Dunwall, she crossed paths with James and Tuddleston. Rather than sending her to the Watch after snagging the girl those sixteen months ago, James offered her regular work and she hasn't regretted it since. She keeps tabs on the doings of the street folk, and James gives her shelter when needed. Never one to mince words, Erin is blatantly honest - quite unusual for a young thief - though her odd dialect learned from her home village often makes it difficult for others to understand her. More recently, the young girl has become infatuated with Ademar Creed, something that nearly all of her fellows have caught onto save the grim ex-Overseer himself.
Erin can clean up nicely when needed... ...though she prefers the comforts of street clothes. Original pic here (used with permission)pd - Erin Brannigan is a young, pretty girl of eighteen winters, who usually dresses in worn clothing that is oversized for her thin, five-foot-tall frame. Her green eyes, pale skin, freckles, and tufts of unkempt red hair poking out from her grey flap cap speak of her Morlish ancestry. Though she's rather run from a fight, she won't desert her friends and while her martial skills are limited, she's good at whacking knees and shins with her cudgel when needed. Erin prefers using her cudgel, nicknamed 'Penstroke', as she is skilled with neither blade nor pistol.

Etiennette MerselEtiennette is the illegitimate daughter of a woman rumored to be lesser member of a powerful merchant house who cut all ties with the woman; the truth of this is unknown as her mother never told her of her family and died of illness when Etiennette was nine. Growing up in poorly maintained orphanages and almshouses, Etiennette has kept a surprisingly upbeat attitude despite being dealt a bad hand by fate. Never given the chance to learn practical skills, Etiennette had few prospects before her.
Realizing that her charm, polite manners, and later her attractive features were highly sought after by those of morally ambiguous character, she reluctantly took to the path of a courtesan. Living a life where not being permanently scarred by a gentleman caller could be considered an upside was not the future she'd hoped for. Smart enough to survive, and insightful enough to want a better life, she has pulled through situations that would break lesser people. She eventually made her way to the Tailors' District, seeking to forge a brighter path for herself when once again fate intervened. This time, however, the outcome resulted in her alliance with the Undertakers and has become the ray of hope she'd desperately yearned for. To this end, she will do anything within her meager power to assist those that offer her the best chance to escape her current circumstances.Etiennette Mersel, a young courtesan of Dunwall.pd - Etiennette is quite attractive with dazzling green eyes, golden locks, and a small but curvaceous figure. Her best feature, she always thought, was her skin. Alabaster in hue, the creamy color hints at a pure innocence and her skin seems to exude a slight glow, as if she is somehow illuminated from the inside. Etiennette's Parasol is part of her daily ensemble......and has hidden means to protect the girl should she find herself in desperate situations.

The TyvianIf the individual known simply as 'The Tyvian' has a name, James and the other Undertakers do not know it. Arriving one day, literally out of the shadows, the tall foreigner sprang to James' and Tuddleston's aid during a scuffle gone bad. After the fight, the man presented a single white calling card, with the words The Tyvian hand-written upon it. Another card followed with instructions to summon him, should James and the others need his services. Though hesitant at first, James and his allies have used the Tyvian on more than one occasion since that fateful encounter, and have never had cause to regret it. What worries James Dartley the most is that he knows nothing as to WHY the mystery man offers his aid. pd - Of Tyvian ancestry, the tall, dark brown-haired man is an enigma. He appears to be in his early thirties, lean and in excellent physical condition. His handsome features are marred by a darkness though, one that goes deep into his being. His amber eyes are always looking about, as if searching for something, or listening to a sound others can't quite hear. He also bears a few scars, one across his left eye and another far more noticeable one across his throat, a long, white, jagged blemish that seems to have robbed him of the ability to speak. The Tyvian in his 'business attire'.While he is best known for being a sharpshooter, the Tyvian is also highly skilled with his sword.

Rollo SeptnerA brutal member of Dunwall's criminal element, Rollo has been in the employ of many of the movers and shakers of the Underworld. He is smart enough to barter when the option is available, but has no qualms cutting down those who get in his way, and takes great pains to remove any evidence of his involvement. While considered a member of James Dartley's Undertakers, Rollo is just as comfortable as a freelance thug, working for any who pays his fee. Despite this, his word is reliable once given and he will never abandon any of his comrades. He has also shown a softer side especially for those who are helplessly preyed upon by larger bullying forces, and when his ire is raised in such circumstances, he is quite vicious.pd - Rollo is a thin, dark-haired man in his early forties who is stronger and more agile than he appears. His rat-like features are more pronounced when he has shaved, but often he has a few days' growth of stubble on his face and chin. He barely tops five-and-a-half feet, and often wears worn clothing - a long dark brown overcoat, a dusty black bowler cocked at an angle on his head, and fingerless cloth gloves. He often wields numerous throwing daggers with which he is quite proficient, as well as a pair of pistols and a unique pair of brass safety goggles with a hinged attachment supporting a second set tinted spectacles.
Besides his pistol, Rollo carries several throwing daggers with which he is particularly proficient. His oddest piece of equipment is a pair of brass safety goggles with a hinged attachment supporting a second pair of tinted spectacles.

Otto HiegAn orphan conscripted into the Imperial Navy at the age of 11, Otto served on board the INV Guardian as one of three cabin boys. It was there that he became acquainted with the warship's Master d'arms, James Dartley. After serving on the vessel for two years, during a campaign against a particularly bloodthirsty group of pirates, Otto nearly became a casualty during a massive exchange between the two parties when he was knocked overboard. Unable to do anything but bob amongst the debris and bodies, Otto would surely have become fodder for the sharks attracted to the blood-drenched waters. Luckily, James dove in the water after him, risking his own life to save the youth's. The battle was won and Otto secretly swore allegiance to James, becoming the officer's confidant from that day over three years ago. Such is his fealty, that Otto even followed James in his quest to seek out his cousin's murderers, using skills he has learned while on the warship to serve him now - stealth, agility, and even deadly knife work.
Otto keeps watch over the Undertakers interests from the sidestreets and rooftops, remaining incognito while he gathers information.pd - Otto is a tall, lanky boy of sixteen who appears better fed than most of the street urchins in the area. He has dark reddish-brown hair, handsome features, and a quiet demeanor. His hazel eyes are quick and his movements even quicker, especially when he employs his switchknife to dangerous effect.
Otto's switchknife, a gift given from James when the two served together on the INV Guardian.

Adrienne Deschamps
The daughter of a sheep herder and a former teacher, Adrienne comes from a large family in the farmlands south of Poolwick. Her mother taught her characters and basic etiquette, suggesting afterwards that the girl find work as a maid or governess in the capital city of Dunwall as there were so many mouths to feed at the farm. Adrienne initially had good fortune, gaining a promising contract with Lord Candrege. Her luck was not to continue, however, as Lord Candrege passed away without any heirs. The entirety of his estate was put up for auction by Barrister Arnold Timsh including Adrienne's contract. Lucretia Dent, a well-connected madame of one of the northern brothels, picked up the contract for a handful of Coin and soon Adrienne had to earn her way as a courtesan. Her situation grew even more desperate when she was taken from Madame Dent's establishment to be traded off to the gang known as Murlyn's Merry Boyz in exchange for the use of their smuggling route. Luckily, during the course of one of the Undertakers' missions, she was rescued by Rollo and now enjoys the hospitality and safety of Ma Nettles, an ally of James Dartley.
Adrienne Deschamps, a young country girl overwhelmed by the big city.pd - Adrienne is a natural dark beauty of twenty with large doe-like eyes and raven-hued hair contrasting nicely against her pale, cream-colored skin. An overall sadness and loneliness pervades her being, but it does little to distract from her simple yet appealing nature.

Anselm ThaveAnselm Thave's loyalty is to House Grey, to it's Master, Dedrick, and in particular his daughter, Vivianna. Once a vicious member of one of the numerous street gangs housed in the capital city of Dunwall, Thave's fortune turned one day by happenstance and a single act of kindness: he managed to halt a runaway horse-drawn carriage at a market and saved the lives of both Lord Dedrick and Lady Vivianna. A grateful Dedrick offered him a job on the spot. Intelligent enough to recognize a golden opportunity, Thave agreed, shed all connections to his old life, and has never regretted the decision. While his background and old occupation are known to his employers, his loyalty has overcome any such concerns that might be voiced. He has since been promoted to the personal bodyguard of the headstrong Vivianna - a position which can cause numerous headaches.pd - Thave is a large, brutal-looking man, clean-shaven with dark hair, and even darker eyes. He dresses in the uniform of the Estate Officers - those private members of the Watch assigned to protect specific important persons of the city. He is normally armed with pistol and his sheathed sword. Despite appearances, his deep voice and mannerisms hint at a sharper mind than his thuggish appearance belies. Though preferring the simplicity of the Gang Cleaver, Thave has become very skilled in the use of the City Watch Sword.
While in Vivianna's company and acting as her bodyguard, Thave carries a Watchman's pistol for the additional protection of his ward.

The Undertakers' Motorized Coach
The Derius Model Motorized Coach is a common open-top variety of mechanical vehicle and inexpensive as such things go. It is also the main mode of transport for the Undertakers when speed is essential. Not as elegant nor sturdy as the various railcars that traffic the streets of Dunwall, the motorized coach has the distinct advantage of not relying upon the city's railway system to arrive at its destination. The electric engine is fueled by a small whale oil tank that also provides energy to the vehicle's two small front facing lamps. The vehicle, owned and expertly piloted by Albert Tuddleston, has become a staple of the Undertakers' operating methods since the group's inception fifteen months ago. Neither as quick as a railcar nor as agile as a horsedrawn carriage, the Derius has nonetheless proven reliable to the Undertakers.

Constance Dartley
First cousin to James Dartley, Constance was seen as a bright soul: an open, giving person that always seemed to inspire the best in people. Residing in the Tailors' District, she worked as the lead assistant at the Atherton Almshouse on Framling Street in the South Commons. She had just turned twenty-three when she became engaged to a young barrister named William Averling and was awaiting the end of James' current tour of duty to have the wedding so he could give her away. Shortly thereafter. she had been unjustly accused of heresy and taken to the Abbey of the Everyman for questioning. After somehow escaping the Warfare Overseers and their grim Abbey, she was brutally murdered in the streets not far from her home in the Month of Earth, 1836, sixteen months before the beginning of the story. She is buried in Coldorness Cemetery at the center of the Old Patricians' Estates.
James formed the Undertakers shortly after after her death to pursue the unknown murderers and find justice for her.
"A bright light extinguished too soon." Epitaph on her grave in Coldorness Cemetery.
pd - Constance was a young pretty woman who was 5'4" tall and of Gristian birth; she had soft, smooth features, dark brown hair, and pale blues eyes that always seemed full of hope and compassion.

William AverlingComing from a family of well-to-do merchants, William took up the study of the law. His quick wit and excitable nature aided him in mastering a rather tedious vocation, and soon many prospects lay open for the young man. By the age of 24 he was barrister accomplished in both litigation and advocacy. A year later he met and fell in love with a young woman, Constance Dartley by name, and after a small period of courting, he asked her to marry him. Her reply of 'yes' was to be the greatest moment of his life. Her brutal murder but a few short months later, his most tragic. So great was his grief, he fell ill and only after months of recovery was he able to find some semblance of his old life. He continues with his legal practices, but now he also secretly aids James Dartley and the rest of the Undertakers in aiding those who require help, while continuing to look for any clue to the identities of the those who murdered his beloved Constance.William Averling, a young barrister of Dunwall.pd - a young man of Gristian descent, twenty-six years old, flaxen-haired and handsome, if a bit thin, with pensive blue eyes, a clean-shaven face, thin nervous lips and the dress and bearing of a professional barrister. He is often see with a thick sheaf of loose documents; since Constance's death, he has some acquired some odd tendencies such as tittering quietly to himself or nervously checking his pocket-watch every few minutes.
